Yes I like flowers, massages, pretty clothes and walls.
I finally got that little flutter in my heart today. Carl has started to put up the walls of our master head. Up went the walls and some of the cupboard space. I guess it’s just girly of me to love that sort of stuff. Now I’m thinking of mattress covers, curtains (not for windows but to hide stuff) and the decorative pillows that I’ll never have.
Everything was mounted to bulkheads and not to the hull for flexing. We’re going to use the old cupboard doors that were original for the boat and the head door will also be the original to match the other doors. From cutting out space from the forward anchor locker/ sail storage we’ve gained a larger bed and a lot more storage. The head and shower will be housed in the same space and basin will be next to a locker in the main space in the master. This way we’ll be able to keep the basin area dry.
There’s a lot of blood and sweat into our baby, the more we work on her the more we love her and know that she’ll be the perfect fit for us. If only she was made of steel. But hey I would love the skin of a brazilian.
Everything is getting painted white. All the masking taped areas will be kept original wood. There was so much water damage we had to tighten our belts and decide on the white instead of replacing the wood. Carl found a product online called Mascoat Marine to insulate. This will help hide all the imperfections of our finish work and help insulate the interior.
Carl installed our new Monitor windvane from Scanmar International. We know how important it is to have a windvane and they are very reliable. Wouldn’t leave home without one.
I’m not that clued up on the above puppy. Carl ordered this baby, she’s a generator/ watermaker. We’ll be able to make 60 gallons of water per hour.
We removed the generator that was mounted in the engine room when we bought the boat.

We were going to run our engine to make water but after firing her up we realized that she was a loud diesel hog and listening to her for a few hours would drive us bonkers. The above setup was rather expensive but we LOVE our showers. We also purchased an emergency watermaker for our life raft.
New home for the hot water heater. 
People would die for our roomy engine room. I’m sure I’ll find Carl in here “working” quite often, good escape from a 2 and 3 year old.
We have started the process of installing the new dodger glass. We chose a slight tint to match the side windows. I think they’ll be light enough not to inhibit our vision too much at night.
A few weeks ago we built and installed new grab rails on either side of the mast. The original grab rails were almost a mirror image of the above. While underway we found ourselves trying to contort our bodies into some sort of carnival act to try and scoot between them and the standing rigging.
Picked up our lovely beef cake anchor from West Marine. Rocna 88 lbs. We’ll still have plenty of room for our second anchor.
And finally, I got my first trip up the mast today. It took Carl and Charles to pull me up. No I don’t consider myself on the heavy side but we do have some neglected winches that make the job challenging.
It wasn’t the best of views, a bunch of barges and stinky oyster shells but when I looked down I was like a school girl crushing on my boat.
