Carl was estimating a departure of Tuesday and my guess was Thursday. Why is the bastard ALWAYS right?? That’s right folks we will be heading out Tuesday. Not too sure what time yet, the tides are kind of messed up. We’ll either leave out around 1am Tuesday or wait for the next high which is 1pm. I ‘m hoping for the 1 pm because I love me sleep. But Carl who always needs to leave at 4am for road trips is sure to want to leave in the middle of the night. Grrr.
We’ll be following the tail end of a cold front so the first day will be a stomach churner I believe with 10’ swell, Salty should be able to handle it and once we make it through the first day we’ll have milder conditions. That first night will be 28 degrees Fahrenheit (-2C for my metric family) so we are going to freezing our butts off! Maybe I’ll play the poor pregnant lady card and skip the night watch that night. Once we leave you can keep track of our where-abouts through our Spot Tracker Shared Page.
Lots of things to do between now and then. Carl is working on installing our watermaker and dealing with stowing everything on deck. I have the boat 80% provisioned so I’ll have to venture out into that horrible pre Christmas crowd to get supplies. I also need to install two more lee cloths and make some curtains to stop our crap from flying everywhere. Well better get off my butt clean up from dinner and start my rather long to do list.
I’ll have to keep my Zofran, earplugs (thanks to the ladies at Women Who Sail), ginger pills, saltines and ginger lollies within arms reach at all times!
