Today we are officially the owners of a steel Bruce Roberts 65′. Yes it is gigantic but with the aid of electronic winches we will be flying! Our lovely Skye 51′ was and still is a beautiful sailing machine but we did the interior for 4 people, not 5. We would have to have our third child sleep in the salon which isn’t really a big deal until he/she was 2 and refusing to go to sleep. We’re thinking of our sanity.
So along came “Salty”.
She’s huge and big enough for everyone, plus more. Not that we plan on more kids but we’d love to have visitors. I’m still a little scared about how she’s going to handle with just the two of us but with an electric winch on the main I don’t think it should be too bad. She has twin engines which is a holiday for Carl to dock.
We hope to move on to her in 2 weeks. We need to get Prili (www.svprili.com) back into the water and put back together.
We’re really excited about salty the beast.
